Music Top Ten

Posted on the Buy.com News and Reviewspage is a video for the song that Weezer frontman Rivers co-wrote with his fans on You Tube.  That’s right—he posted chunks of it, gathered comments and adjusted to suit the fans.  It hasn’t made our charts yet…but let’s see what has on the Top 10 Music Countdown.

 

Guests on this album include Ice Cube, Lil’ Wayne, Ne-Yo, Busta Rhymes, Ludacris plus many more !  The Game certainly has some musical friends! 10 is “LAX.”   

 

Sugarland began as a trio of singer/songwriters from Atlanta in 2002…but now as a duo Jennifer and Kristian are making waves.  9 is “Love on the Inside.”   

This girl became an overnight sensation as the star of “Hannah Montana.” Now, she’s following in Daddy Billy Rae’s footsteps.  8 is Miley Cyrus with “Breakout.” 


 Since the late 1960’s Carlos has churned out tons of material in his unique hybrid sound.  7 is no exception.  It’s Santana with “Multi-Dimensional Warrior.”   

 

Coldplay smashed the digital download record by selling more downloads than any other album in digital history!  At 6 on our countdown, its “Viva la Vida.” 

 

5 is LL Cool J’s last release on Def Jam Records because the contract he signed as a teenager has come to an end…12 albums later.  Lookout for “Exit 13.”

 

It’s been barely a year since his last release, but the creative juices have been flowing with Ne-Yo.  Inspired by the Ratpack, 4 is the “Year of the Gentleman.” 

 

With a pop art collage of musical styles, Beck emerged from the 90’s to be a true player in the world of alternative rock.  He lands at 3 with “Modern Guilt.    

Trent Reznor is the only official member of the group at 2, being the main producer, singer, songwriter and instrumentalist.  It’s Nine Inch Nails with “The Slip.” 

 

The man claiming the top spot this week has a storied career as a songwriter, arranger & composer.  It’s Randy Newman with his latest, “Harps & Angels.”
