Top Ten in Movies This Week!

It’s all about the kids in our movie news this week. According to the Hollywood Reporter, actor John Goodman has been tapped to play the legendary folk story character Paul Bunyan in the upcoming CG-animated family adventure "Bunyan & Babe." Meanwhile, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is in talks to star in a remake of the classic Disney movie "Escape to Mountain" which is about a pair of siblings, endowed with paranormal powers.

10 - Take on the evil species known as the Wraith in the sci-fi spin-off series “Stargate Atlantis: Season Three.”

9 – Stone Cold Steve Austin body slams into ninth with “The Condemned.” The wrestler-turned-action hero stars as a wrongly imprisoned man who’s dropped into a deadly reality-television show.

8 – They’re hot and they’re desperate. Eva Longoria, Teri Hatcher, and the rest of the women of Wisteria Lane clean up the top ten at number eight with “Desperate Housewives: Season 3.”

7– Rescuing the countdown at number seven is the teen of steel in “Smallville: The Complete Sixth Season.” Will Lana and Clark finally be together? Or will she marry Lex Luther? Find out in this six disc set.

6 – Standing out in sixth is “Ugly Betty: Season One.” America Ferrera stars as the title character in the freshman season of the Golden-globe winning series.

5 – Ordinary people with extraordinary powers is the subject of our fifth choice. Join the phenomenon known as “Heroes,” with their suspenseful debut season.

4 – Matthew McConaughey takes on the tragic true story of the Marshall University football team in the tearful drama “We Are Marshall,” at number four.

3 – Laughs aplenty in our third slot with Seth McFarlane’s animated comedy show “Family Guy: Volume 5.” The Griffin family continues their pop-culture hilarity in 13 fifth season episodes.

2 – Hugh Laurie operates in second for this edition of the countdown with “House: Season 3.” The DVD set features all 24 episodes of the critically-acclaimed show, along with exclusive bonus materials.

1– Still on top of the top ten is the uber-popular medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy: Season 3.” The new DVD set of the show’s third season delivers never-before-seen bonus features, including uncut and extended episodes.

Those are the tops in DVDs for this week. Additional releases include: the third season of “Boston Legal,” Quentin Tarentino’s “Death Proof – Extended and Unrated,” and “Barbie as the Island Princess.”
