Top Ten in Games This Week!

The former Terminator is looking to terminate the sale of ultra-violent video games to minors in the state of California. Governor Schwarzenegger appealed a Federal judge’s ruling that struck down a law, which barred the sales of the games to kids. We’ll keep you updated on this story in the coming weeks. Now on to the video games countdown, which is fun and appropriate for all ages.

10 – Heating things up at number ten is “Mercury Meltdown Revolution,” for the Nintendo Wii. It’s a puzzle game that challenges players to immerse themselves in a colorful world of sci-fi machines, crazy characters, and bubbling test tubes.

9– “Dragon Blade: Wrath of Fire,” for the Nintendo Wii scorches the top ten at number nine. Embark on epic quests through 20 unique environments and 6 visually stunning worlds in this fantasy adventure.

8 – Take on the role of celebrated composer Frederic Chopin in our eighth choice: “Eternal Sonata,” for the X-Box 360. Explore Chopin’s dreamland in this new and unique role playing game.

7 – A classic Nintendo franchise takes our seventh spot. It’s “Metroid Prime 3: Corruption,” for Nintendo Wii. This 3-D first-person adventure delivers a never-before-seen level of immersion.

6 – “DK Jungle Climber,” for Nintendo DS swings into our sixth slot. It’s the fun multi-player challenge that puts you in the role of Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong or Funky Kong.

5 –  Number five delivers action from master action director John Woo. “John Woo Presents Stranglehold (Collectors Edition),” for Playstation 3, X-Box 360, and the PC is a stunning 3rd-person action adventure videogame and "spiritual sequel" to the cult film “Hard Boiled.”

4 – Holding steady at number four is “Heavenly Sword,” for Playstation 3. Embark on a quest for vengeance as a female warrior cursed by a powerful ancient sword.

3– Tuning up to the third spot is “Singstar 80’s Bundle,” for Playstation 2. This karaoke game features a who’s who of eighties music, including Culture Club, Wham!, Madonna, and Duran Duran.

2 – “Skate,” for Playstation 3 and X-Box 360 glides all the way to second this week. It captures the true feel of skating through a unique control system and physics driven animation.

1 – And circling around our top spot is “Halo 3,” for X-Box 360. The epic conflict between the Covenant, the Flood and the entire human race comes to a dramatic, pulse-pounding climax in the third episode of the acclaimed Halo trilogy.
