Bond, James Bond


As we prepare for the books countdown, some publishing news for James Bond fans. The famous British superspy will be returning to bookstores in "Devil May Care," a novel by Sebastian Faulks. The book was authorized by the estate of Bond creator, Ian Fleming, and is due to be released in 2008, the 100th anniversary of Fleming's birth.

 

Now it’s time for the top ten in books .

 

10. “The Tin Roof Blowdown,” by James Lee Burke follows Robicheaux in the fight against crime following Hurricane Katrina.

 

9.  “Middlesex,” by author Jeffrey Eugenides. The epic novel tells the tale of a unique genetic trait passed from one generation to the next, until it comes to affect the life of one young woman.

6.. Entrepreneur Timothy Ferris rewrites the rules and upsets conventional wisdom about work and success with “The 4-Hour Work Week: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich.”

 

5.  “A Thousand Splendid Suns.” In his second novel, Afghanistani-American novelist Khaled Hosseini shows the tenuous alliance made between two Afghan women who are both married to the same brutal older man.

 

4. “Jinx,” by Meg Cabot pens the fun, supernatural tale of Jean Jinx Honeychurch, who may either be the unluckiest girl in the world or a witch.

 

3. Author Sherrilyn Kenyon returns with her newest, most imaginative, and most breathtaking entry in her Dark-Hunter series yet. Debuting at number three, it’s “Devil May Cry: A Dark Hunter Novel.”

 

2. “Secret Servant,” by Daniel Silva. This intense, fast-paced international thriller explores some of the most daunting questions of our time.

 

1. Still reigning supreme in our top spot, it’s J.K. Rowling’s “Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows.”
