The Beach of the Future

The beach of the future has arrived in New Jersey.

Yep. Ocean City, New Jersey, to be exact. The town is planning to institute some innovative technologies on their beaches, including the use of electronic wristbands to automatically pay for beach access, as well as food and parking. The system will also send a text message to a mother's cellphone if her child strays too far, and garbage cans will e-mail maintenance when they need to be emptied. Plus, workers will have the ability to scan the beach and instantly find out who didn’t pay. It’s a $3 million dollar project set to be finished by next summer.

I think there is a lot more we can do with $3 million dollars in the US... Agree?
